Solar Energy Scotland Response
The position set out Scottish Governments thinking on issues that would need to be addressed when preparing Scotland’s fourth National Planning Framework (NPF4).
Solar Energy Scotland was encouraged by the Scottish Governments thinking around planning for net-zero emissions, with high importance placed on renewable technologies to tackle the climate emergency. However, it was concerning that there was an absence of any reference to solar in the position statement.
Our response sets out our recommendations for the NPF4, highlighting the importance of solar technologies and barrier removal to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and flexible technologies to deliver the energy transition in Scotland.
