Smart Solar & Storage

Project Overview

Emtec Energy was awarded a groundbreaking contract by Aberdeenshire Council in 2019 to install solar panels and battery storage in 500 council homes. This pioneering project aims to alleviate grid constraints, provide clean energy to tenants, reduce fuel poverty, and generate income for the council. By aggregating the solar and battery systems to deliver grid services, the project offers a unique solution to network challenges, setting a precedent for future renewable energy initiatives in the UK.

Emtec Energy was founded in 2011 as part of the Emtec Group, originally delivering bespoke Design & Build services to the new-build constructions sector and large frameworks for local authorities.

Since then they have grown to employ over 40 Solar PV specialists with a client base varying across Scottish Whisky Distilling, Petrochemical Retail, Food Production, Furniture Manufacturing, Agriculture and many others.
